Beautifully broken (a poem)

How sad is your life how sad is your heart

I’d rather my life be taken than see your broken heart

And the ticking of this world won't wait for your heart

For you had been the wont of my life

How sad is your emptiness how sad are your lies

Your tears create silence, your soul screams for life

How could one live with the cries of another?

How could another live with one’s pain of another?

The ticking of this world and the beat of my heart

And the colliding cadence of the past

For my once dampened heart is now set free

Now you are unchained and so am I

The only thing that remains is the reminisce

Only a memory, recalling your laugh

Only an experience, fighting your pride

Only a lesson, finding yourself

After all, it’s only a dream, a fantasy, and a beautiful past
