August (monthly)

So, I was re-reading last month's blog post and I realized how CHAOTIC and unorganized I sounded LOL.

Priscilla told me it's nice (no, she did not use those words... it was something along the lines of "nice") because it's super raw and transparent.

There were other people who told me that they read the first few lines and then stopped reading... real. I respect the honesty, hahaha.

This month I will try to be more structured or at least sound less chaotic and ALL over the place... :')

Also, sorry @isaac + @deb for having your face super big on the front of the blog post, I did not think it would show up so obnoxiously :')

So, recap of August... my mother left at the end of the first week. I had to take a bunch of donations to my local donation center (s/o to eco thrift Hayward)!

I had to go pick up my cat from Eunice's house. She cat-sat for me while I was gone to Yosemite. This is me showing the cat a video of a bird so that I can grab her and skeet back home... She was being a pain in the a** - hissing, attacking, biting,,, I legit tried everything in my power to get Kitty out... Thank you Eunice for cat-sitting <3

moving + facetiming Noah and Sam... the sinner (it was a joke LOL) + eating my last couple breakfast before my mom leaves + jj that Sam bought from korean market and ate with my mom + sam using the massage chair when he came to "help" with our moving + sam stitching up his car (a ritual).

my cat, kitty <3 #theshek

went to sf and took myself out on a date (that sounded zesty...) but yes, spent some alone time while I journaled. I saw nico working at the cafe and talked to Nathan, another barista at Coffee Movement. Look at the girl's dress.... IMMACULATE. BEAUTIFUL. I overheard, and I think her friend is a designer who sewed it for her??? I could be wrong, but if anyone knows of this designer please hmu (side thought: I feel like Eunice Noona would love this dress).

Went to my home church's college ministry hangout at Julie's place. It's always really nice to see old friends after a long time :)
I ran into Anna at Mainstreet Cupertino... I missed her so much! She was in Korea for so long... :') SO GOOD SEEING HER <3

Alex hit me up after his mission trip to Japan and we grabbed a meal at Imm Thai, classic. He took fit pics for me + bought me coffee, heh. Alex shared his testimony in Japan and I was really blessed :)

Look at little Alex carrying the merch WE made together!
노숙자 느낌...~~!

Noah's birthday! Happy birthday brother, love you.

Went to watch Barbie on a Tuesday morning... legit first showing of the day. At first, I thought this movie would be another politically motivated, uber-left agenda-ed movie, but it was suprisingly great. greta thunberg....  I mean greta gerwig <3 LOOOOL

I've been hitting the gym every day, at least 5 times a week. I've been seeing some progress but I feel like I need to change up my weightload? Though recently, I have been working out in the morning before work, I was working at 8pm after work for a while.

hungout with dababy boys + mary came to norcal... SUPRISE! LOL
It was truly an eventful day
I realize after post-grad, more and more, who you choose to hangout with becomes super selective and intentional... perhaps HAS to be more intentional because there aren't as many reasons to meet up unless I hit them up. I hadn't hung out with my boys in a while so it was great to be with them.

Johann <3 Noah <3 Joseph <3 (joe was feeling tired so we told him to stay home)

picked up johannah (my daughter) from OAK airport and helped her and Kayla move in to their new apartment... it's always a really weird and exciting feeling to share stories and life with friends who come back after break. They are some of the few people in my life that bring me so much life and see "God-sighting moment" (as Pastor JW would put it).

another Alex Yu appreciation post... we twinnem <3

This day the sunset was particularly beutiful. It had been a while since I saw a sunset and felt so many emotions...!

Gunny hyung bought me sashimi, hehe. also, this wine from trader joe's is cheap AND tasteful (for it's price) I reccomend it!

I shopped for dinner that I will be making for Marian when she comes over + food for myself. I made a lemon-ginger detox shot that I could drink first thing in the morning... I'm trying mom,,, to be healthy and love myself.

met up with the boys again, and got soft serve at mcdonalds after. i had to pickup sangjoon that night so i hung out with joeshin since i had nothing to do, truly a mistake... they spent an hour finding 3 items from the store :')

went climbing by myself for about 5 hours LOL, well, I worked out for about the last 2 hours
you do not understand how sore I was the next day! :D

called my sister the same night and had some great conversations.... or I think I just lectured her for about an hour and she wanted to leave.... Hanah, if you're reading this please call me back, I miss you <3

our church provided us with samgaetang! BLESS THE LORD!! PTLL!!! I ended up having 2 serving.
look at my litto youth kiddos <3 another reason I live and feel PUMPED with so much life!

hung out with the boys AGAIN. HAHA, I guess after that first meetup we realized we missed each other a lot. I had to leave early or soon after I sat down because I forgot that I had work LOL, sorry again guys.

went to morning prayer at crossway church (Sangj's church) + went to work... DEAD + feeding Marian my famous ratatouille (my go-to dish)! Gave some for her to take home and have her mom judge my cooking >:)

hung out with kevin and anna after my work. no other words or description. I'll just leave this here.

first day in LA! flew down for JUSTEL's wedding :) went to hammer museum with priscilla, the collection was quite underwhelming but there were some CRAZY pieces forsure. the interior designing of this place was also quite nice, very intentionally built and designed.

second day was basically date day with johann LOL noah went out with his gf so johann and I were left for the rest of the day to do something.... till we met up with the rest of our group. we went to a couple coffee shops and dined him at an italian restaurant ;)

went to visit my old fashion intern place, bought them 23 packs of modelo, saw a full bottle of pee that was used as a prop for the photoshoot, twas great seeing them again lol

we went to the Huntington library & museum, but the price was too expensive... and deborah on her knees, anyways...

so much of johann and david <3
okay, crazy story: we went to Kumquat Coffee in pasadena and I literally did a DOUBLE TAKE because I saw Laufey... yes, LAUFEY! So afterward, Angela and I went up to her and started talking. I legit blanked out, but I said a lot of gibberish. For reference, I am a HUGE Laufey fan, I was considering flying to some random city where tickets were available to listen to her. Like, I am an OG fan - knew her since her youtube days! anyways, i did not get a photo with her but I did get to talk to her so :)

we went to yuhchun naengmyun!

after yuchun, we went to redroom. Coffee MCO converts their shop into a wine bar thur-sat 6pm to 12am. they were playing some BANGERS and the natural wine selection was BEUT!
my friend matt put me on since he's the barista and the bartendar!

open market with the boys before wedding day :D

WEDDING TIME!
Legit weeped, no, almost UGLY cried in front of the entire congregation. I had to turn my body away from the bride (estel) and hold onto Noah. I had to touch home base. my safe point.

the picture on the left is from last year and the right is from this year. exactly around this time of the year we were in LA. at that time i was interning at my fashion job. living in LA. broke artist life. and when they came i was so happy.

oops, here is a couple more photos.

this day we just chilled for the most part, but i was so tired so fell asleep at Deborah's... priscilla made an edit out of me and i- LOOOL

i don't read as much anymore (bc of personal reasons) but i felt like reading a little so with a little courage i opened up liturgy of the ordinary and man... when somebody else has the language to speak and form the thoughts that you have in such beautiful ways i feel so encouraged and seen. this is exactly that <3 tish warren <3

eunice came back from korea and i was meant to house her for a couple weeks until she found a more permanent place to stay... suprise: she ended up taking my sister's room and becoming my housemate!!! super exciting LOL

the massage chair is truly the community's... LOL, it could solve world peace, i swear.

went to sangj's send off for CCPC and we got ice cream right after, munch

shopping at trader joe's is a routine at this point
i get the hype!

went to berkeley's welcome week friday event + got to see my church girlies (<3) + got to meet a lot of other great people
was lowkey scared because I didn't want to make any new relationships LOL I don't want to pour out into any more people... please God...

my breakfast these days has been greek yogurt with bananas and blueberries + a shot of lemon-ginger detox shot (always)

these two girls were grabbing onto her mother's cardigan at costco and i thought it was the cutest thing in the world

went to the mosaic x arcteryx event with marian - got humbled real hard

eunice made us kimchi something (soup???).... i love you 3000

kiddos at work had olympic day... man, I think I LOVE kids, but I also HATE kids... PTL though :D

legit hung out with sangj so much this week... truly truly I will miss him when he leaves for NYC :") + I was so confused about the sink... infinity sink??? dead

this month was so PACKED, but i also loved every bit of it. a life of settling in, finding my rhythm, and understanding boundaries better. i have been understanding what it means to truly be humbled and love God from a "dying to myself" perspective. new communities, people, and career path. becoming more independent and understanding how to love better (myself and others). in summary, i feel like i've met two great people this month: sangjoon + jeremy. God always blesses me with such great people and this is one of those moments. also just maintaining the relationships from last semester from church (eric, debo, the girlies, more).

song for this month:

comforter - naul
debo and I bond over this song + this song is my life, my love, my breath <3

eye to eye - kwak jin eon
light-hearted acoustic song, love kwak jin eon!

forest - choi yuree
